• identification documents required for verification of identity under PEXA and Land Registry rules;
• information about the property, including the title, address and any encumbrances;
• details of other parties to the transfer, including a spouse, family member, executor or beneficiary;
• financial information necessary to complete the transfer, such as bank account details for settlement; and
• any information provided through the instant quote form on our website.

We use the information we collect to:

• provide a quote and, if you instruct us, carry out the legal services for your property transfer;
• verify your identity in compliance with PEXA and Land Registry rules;
• prepare and lodge transfer, duty and registration documents;
• communicate with you, the other party, your bank, the relevant land registry and the revenue authority for your state;
• comply with our legal and professional obligations, including under the Legal Profession Uniform Law and anti-money-laundering requirements; and
• improve our services and respond to your enquiries.

To deliver the services we are engaged for, we may share your personal information with:

• the other party to the transfer and their lawyer or conveyancer;
• banks, mortgagees and incoming mortgagees;
• the relevant Land Registry and State Revenue Office;
• PEXA Australia Limited as the electronic lodgement network operator;
• identity verification providers (for example, IDfy or VOI agents);
• government agencies where required by law; and
• our professional advisers, auditors and insurers.

We do not sell your personal information. We do not disclose your information to overseas recipients unless required for a service you have asked us to provide (for example, when verifying identity from outside Australia).

We store personal information in secure electronic systems hosted in Australia, and in our practice management software. Access is restricted to staff who need it to perform their duties. We take reasonable steps to protect against loss, unauthorised access, modification or disclosure.

We retain records as required by the Legal Profession Uniform General Rules and our professional obligations, generally for at least seven years from the closure of your matter.

Our website may use cookies and similar technologies to remember your preferences and to measure how the site is used. You can disable cookies in your browser, but parts of the site may not function as intended.

You can ask us for a copy of the personal information we hold about you, and ask us to correct it if it is inaccurate. We will respond within a reasonable time and may need to verify your identity before providing access.
